Setlakin is an extended cycle hormone-based combination birth control pill. It contains Ethinyl estradiol 0.03 mg and levonorgestrel 0.15 mg. As an extended cycle pill, it gives women the convenience of fewer periods.
Nausea, irregular bleeding, headache. Some serious side effects that may occur are high blood pressure, heart attack, impaired glucose tolerance, gallbladder disease, pancreatitis, blood clots, liver disease, headache, stroke, and depression.
If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call a poison control center right away. US residents can call their local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea and vomiting, sudden/unusual vaginal bleeding.
Who should not take it: If you are pregnant. If you have history of breast cancer, liver disease, undiagnosed abnormal uterine bleeding; concomitant use of hepatitis C drugs. If you have history of blood clots, stroke, coronary artery disease, diabetes mellitus with vascular disease, hypertension (uncontrolled), headaches, migraine headaches, thrombogenic valvular or rhythm diseases of the heart, women >35 years who smoke.
